The dog’s doodahs
Just got back into biking and was looking for something that looked good when riding my Speedmaster. I tried quite a few helmets, but this perfect! I love the matt black finish which makes the helmet look quite ‘urban’ and is in keeping with the cruiser look.
The fit is nice (I’m a 56cm), so the small was really good for me. It’s light and has a nice fit on my cheeks. One excellent aspect is the drop down sun visor – done by moving a slider on the outside of the helmet. The front visor can be adjusted to open up to any setting – which is good for letting in just a bit of air. The vents on the front also open and close to let more air in, which also helps with demisting. Overall, this is an excellent helmet, it’s not overly expensive either. Would thoroughly recommend this helmet! Chris, SportsBikeShop customer
Comfortable, lots of features, however..
… most of the meat of my review is in the bar graphs, but I will say this: If you buy this helmet, but the pin lock insert at the same time. The breath deflector works somewhat, but the geometry of the face shield, and it’s locking position makes this helmet fog up VERY quickly in any temperature approaching 50 degrees. If you are a summer rider, and don’t venture out in early morning or after dark, then it won’t matter much. All weather/All Season riders beware.
On that same note, if you don’t winterize your bike, you’re also going to want to invest in a real chin curtain as well. Great airflow in this helmet, but that’s what you don’t want at 40 degrees’ and below. Christian, Revzilla customer
Excellent lid at a great price
Excellent lid, better in every way than the is-17. Better ventilation, fit, shell size, much wider glasses groove and bigger eyeport for a better view. Much easier to use the sun shield now the mechanism has moved, and the sun shield is now bigger, and a better fit to the eyeport.
It also has a double D ring fastening rather than the microbuckle it claims to have in the UK market on the HJC web site, which is much more secure. Nicola, Amazon customer
