Super light, super sexy

I’ve always been a fan of the brutish styling of Simpson’s helmets. Most of us are secret fans of the Stig and all aspire to be him/her? The first thing you’lll notice is the lack of weight, there’s always a worry that when buying a lid if it’s light it must be cheap, don’t let the dual composite weight put you off, it’s one of the safest in its class. 

I went for matt black which suits my KTM RC8R, it’s comfortable, a little cosy around the cheek pads but this will change with age. I feel confident that this will protect me while still giving me the field of view required when riding in the summer. As always, make sure you measure yourself correctly before committing to a purchase.

Great three season helmet

Fits well and is very well padded but comfortable as well. Not as noisy as some reviews lead you to believe (I do wear earplugs). Venting is really good but I think it might be a bit cold in the winter months so I would recommend it as a 3 season helmet.

The build quality appears to be very good and on a par with other top brands. The field of vision is particularly good and no misting with the pinlock insert fitted. Sun shield is effective and easy to operate. I seem to get less buffeting with this helmet than my other helmets and would rate the aerodynamics as very good.

Compared to my Shoei

I compare this helmet with my Shoei XR-1000

Positive: – optics, inner visor (replaceable), processing, inner material, removable cheek pads, double D-ring buckle, price-performance ratio

Negative: compared to the Shoie, the helmet is rather loud (80km / H), the notch to open the visor is a bit cumbersome

Conclusion: Super helmet for everyone who cares about the look but can make a few compromises in comfort! FC Moto customer
