Comfortable and light
The first thing you notice is the light weight then the easy opening visor, left hand so you don’t need to shut the throttle. Looking closer, the sun visor is easy to operate and can be slid to any position, when fully down it really is too. For me it’s very comfortable but it’s not quiet unless you ride with your head slightly to one side. There’s a lot of space round your ears though and a gap for glasses so that may be part of the noise path. There’s no buffet from the wind and no tendency to lift.
When mine arrived there was some small cracks in the visor where the Pinlock pins had been fitted. Helmet City asked for photos and a replacement arrived in a couple of days, great service and easy to get hold of on the phone. Pete S, Helmet City customer
Nice features for the price and surprisingly quiet
I moved from 1x Nolan, 2x Shoei RF-11100, 1x Arai RX-Q to this SHARK Spartan Karken. My Arai is one year old and I still use it. I bought this SHARK for my weekend rides for the convenience of the integrated sun visor. Although it costs $200 less than my Arai, I find it much quieter. My Arai RX-Q was already an upgrade in quietness compared to my Shoei RF-1100. Surprisingly, this Shark Spartan is quieter than my Arai, not sure why ??
The integrated visor is convenient, as I wear correction glasses to ride. I have been carrying two pairs of glasses (one pair of clear lenses and one sunglasses, both have correction). With this Shark, I only need one pair of clear correction glasses with me.
I commute about 1400 miles per month so having a quiet helmet is a big advantage. Very happy with my purchase. S Hoa, RevZilla customer
Great helmet
First non-Shoei helmet I’ve purchased in about 15 years. This was to replace my well used and loved GT-Air that’s now 5 years old. I find the fit very comfortable, it’s no noisier, the venting is fine, I’d say the visor quality is better optically, I like the movable chin curtain though it can be a bit awkward to ensure it stays in place. It has a better sharp rating too. The quality is great and the carbon finish is superb. Downsides are the drop down visor slider is much less convenient than on the GT-air. Final kicker is it was significantly cheaper than the Shoei. Neil M, Sportsbike Shop customer
