Description: Shark Spartan
Beware heavyweight helmets, your days are numbered. The Spartan is a lean armed fighter with a fibreglass shell and aggressive spoilers for speed stability. While other helmets are stuck in the Bronze Age, Shark used Computational Fluid Dynamics to fine-tune the Spartan into its chiselled form.
Within the Spartan everything you need to operate in physical and mental peak condition is optimised. Large ram-air intake vents located on the chin bar and cool air in the crest channel while hot air is expelled through the twin spoiler design venturi. Thanks to the MaxVision anti-fog system your vision will be clear. Your hearing is going to be acute since Shark’s approach to sound dampening is full system. Your neck won’t strain as the Spartan is lightweight as well as volumetrically optimised to reduce drag. You’ll be fighting your four-wheeled enemies, dropping knees, dragging elbows and emerging victorious.

Compared to Shoei
First non-Shoei helmet I’ve purchased in about 15 years. This was to replace my well used and loved GT-Air that’s now 5 years old. I find the fit very comfortable, it’s no noisier, the venting is fine, I’d say the visor quality is better optically, I like the movable chin curtain though it can be a bit awkward to ensure it stays in place. It has a better sharp rating too.
The quality is great and the carbon finish is superb. Downsides are the drop down visor slider is much less convenient than on the GT-air. Final kicker is it was significantly cheaper than the Shoei. Neil, SportsBikeShop customer
Loud and horrible visor
Best looking helmet out there, but the noise is horrible, and the wind will get inside the helmet no matter if you close the air vents or not. The shield is not sealed perfectly and you hear a strange whistle noise…it won’t even close properly: the right side will stay cracked open, while the left side will close.
I had the HJC RPHA 10+ before, and I got the Shark Spartan Carbon because I wanted the sunvisor, (the best). I regret not buying the RPHA 11.
Every time I ride, I get tears in my eyes from the wind that gets trough the air vents and chin curtain.
When the mouth air vent is closed you get a lot of wind in the face, and when it’s opened, the air goes up, in the eyes…useless system.
It’s the best looking carbon helmet out there, and the shape is simply perfect, but the shield and air vents are bad quality.
I might buy the Shoei Neotec 2. Eugen, Revzilla customer
Had to return it
Mine had a very bad air leak around one corner of the visor that would not seal no matter how I adjusted the visor position. I looked high and low for some UK customer service or a Shark service centre so I could get some help with the adjustments but couldn’t really find any support so I had no choice but to return it.
