Shoei GT Air

Main concept in development of new generation touring full-face was a unity of performance including firm safety and stylish design. While an inner visor which opens and closes makes it possible to correspond to various circumstances, a shell is designed not to compromise thickness of an impact absorption liner, essential factor for an impact absorption performance, and at the same time, not to be unnecessarily large. A lines streaming from side to rear head works as an integrated spoiler and improves aerodynamic performance.

Just right

Now own 2 gt airs, tried a Bell Star but can’t beat shoei for comfort and quality, and the integral sun visor is an excellent feature. It’s not the quietest helmet ( I take the chin curtain out which might not help ) and strangely there is no slightly open visor position. Nevertheless, with the discount voucher from SBS this was an irresistible bargain. I drove to Leeds to get this as it was the last size XL in the country. First time not mail order, great personal service In shop. I’d recommend SBS to anyone. My only worry with the helmet is replacement time…. looks like Shoei are dropping the double d fastener. Great purchase

Upgraded from my old Shoei RF1200. Upgraded sound deadening works well. The sun shield is an added bonus. Installation of my Sena 20S was abit tricky but worked out ok. A good buy and a recommended purchase. Dan B, Revzilla customer

Very snug but very quiet

Helmet arrived very quickly after placing order online. All my previous Shoei helmets have been size M and all fitted well. Some reviews mentioned that this helmet was tighter than normal so ordered an L instead of M. I found that even size L is very snug which I don’t mind, but I did need a couple of rides to get my head and helmet acquainted. There is a lot of soft but firm padding on the inside. The helmet is quite narrow at the head opening which makes it a bit hard to get on. The upside is that because of this, the helmet is very very quiet! Even with the visor not fully closed. I was really impressed. Vents work well and are easy to operate while driving. Pinlock visor is a bonus and seems to work well(never had one before so no reference). The build in sunvisor is not as close to the eyes as a pair of regular sunglasses but I got used to it quickly. I really like the fact that you can easily flip up or down the sunvisor. Most of the time I drive without it but sometimes you just need a bit of shading. I do believe that people who wear regular glasses will have a hard time squeezing them on.
