HJC IS-17

A Jack-Of-All trades helmet with an internal sunvisor and polycarbonate shell.

The IS-17 provides high performance levels and safety for a great price by HJC. The helmet ‘s outer shell is made of advanced polycarbonate that keeps the helmet lighter while still providing fantastic protection. The IS-17 has been designed using CAD technology which provides a fantastic comfortable fit. Internal cheek pads are available in various thicknesses to give the helmet an even more personalised fit, so you can find a size perfect for you. For a more comfortable journey, the interior material is anti-bacterial, and is also built for wick moisture.

Nice helmet

Fits well – I’m on the edge between M & L and the latter seems to be the way to go. Still a little tightness so hopefully won’t loosen too much over time. Crystal clear vision once the pinlock is inserted (came in the box so self installed). Ventilation is good but it’s a touch noisy. Not a bother for a commute but could be annoying on longer journeys. Great bang for the buck, but very loud

I’ve had this helmet for 2 riding seasons now. The features are great like the visor lock mechanism and the tinted shield is awesome. My issues are that the helmet is extremely loud with wind noise – the chin curtain (sold separately) helps a bit but not enough. Its also a bit unstable on the highway around box trucks or semi trailers. Overall not too bad for the price, but there are some limitations on any helmet at this price point. Benjamin D. All around goodness

The helmet has a good quality feel to it. Good finishing, light, confortable, fits great in my head and is highly ventilated. Intregated sun visor is useless (for me), but it does the job. The only con is the wind noise. I saw reviews saying this was quiet but apparently it isn’t. Came from my old helmet from a lesser brand (G-MAC) that was more quiet than this. Even my two old AGV helmets are way more quiet. For the price, I’m very happy. Foncesca, SBS customer

Not bad

Not bad of a helmet. The inside visor is a bit light, the internal visor mechanism is really nice especially when it’s retracting, since it doesn’t slam back up even in the middle of Hwy riding, and it’s easy to find and use with gloves. Fit feels good, I would for sure buy the optional chin curtain, made a nice difference. Only big downside is the noise. Very loud wind noise even at 35-40 mph. I couldn’t even hear my own bike, which has the stock exhaust but still. I for sure have to use headphones or ear plugs going to work or while riding on the HWY. Will say airflow is awesome and during the last few cold morning rides, when the vents are closed and chin curtain in place I barely if at all felt the cold air. Helmet is very stable while riding.
