Description: Duchinni D705
The Duchinni D705 is a full face helmet with a shell designed in an aerodynamic way to improve airflow. In the EPS, cool air is vented from the front vents to the rear via channels behind the removable and washable interior, enhancing rider comfort. Chin curtain and breath deflector are standard, all secured by the quick release buckle which can be adjusted micrometrically.
First helmet, so hard to compare
The picture is deceptive as it comes with a clear visor and doesn’t look half as good as the picture on the site. The vents seem to work in the slimmest sense of the word because it fogs up quite quickly. And I’ve still not worked out if the vents are up or down on the top as it’s hard to tell.
When riding at mid to high speed, having the visor ajar slightly curls the wind up into your face, having it closed fogs up and having it open makes a loud whistling noise (though having it fully open is actually the best option as there’s a cushion of air in front of your face so it’s not as bad as I thought it would be. The visor used to come off quite easily so it could be cleaned, however that seems to be a thing of the past as I now can’t get it off at all and have to clean it from the inside, which is awkward. But, it’s cushioned quite well inside, fits well, there’s a nose guard in there too and it looks okay, I guess. I think I’d pay more for a lid next time, but as I said in the title, it’s my first helmet and it made me feel the part when I passed my test. Kris SportsBikeShop customer
Great first helmet
Bought this a month ago as my first bike helmet and used it since mainly to commute into work, it’s very comfy (with removable cheekpads if you want a bit more space and vents in the front and top) and the visor gives great peripheral vision and doesn’t fit up to easily. Matt, Halfords customer
This helmet deserves a rating of excellent as it’s very cheap but doesn’t compromise on comfort. The ability to introduce airflow through the helmet is a nice touch, and vastly reduces ‘steam-up’ which is a boon if you wear glasses like me. SportsBikeShop customer
