Bell Star

The Bell Star is more than its Predecessor ‘s evolution. Find out the technology that makes it a complete rethink of what a race helmet should be, driven by the modern racer’s essential needs.

The Bell Star series Panovision viewport offers riders additional vertical and lateral visibility over the previous Star, as well as other more traditional viewpoints. This helps the rider to see better in a close or tucked position and to make changes of lane and head checks more safe.

For two very different styles of riding the Bell Star features two special profile shapes. The Raceview profile – used on the Pro Star Flex and Race Star Flex – uses a specifically tailored orientation for a tucked, more compact position. Conversely, the Streetview profile — used for the Star MIPS — is built for a role that is more upright, sporty, or touring.

The Raceview profile is for a rider that enjoys a tight position and pushing their skills. The Streetview profile is designed for a less aggressive rider.

Not the best

To be honest I expected a bit more from the lid, the visor mechanism seems particularly poor. It arrived with a cross threaded screw in one side and when riding with the visor up it whistles terribly. Paul M, SportsBikeShop customer customer

Almost perfect

My third helmet in 8 years of riding. Bought a medium. Perfect fit. I ride an FZ8. Aerodynamics are extremely good at silly speeds. Ventilation is the best I have had – I live in the South of France where it’s very hot in summer. Quiet with visor down. The vision is by far the best I have had. Barely turning your head to look behind. A satisfying click to lock the visor in place. Strong springs lift it up nicely. I bought the dark smoke visor as well – very easy to remove and replace. The one gripe is an annoying whistling when visor is up over about 50mph. Can’t have it all. I see the price has dropped again. On my second Star

This is my 2nd Bell Star in 7 years. I love the fit, finish and durability. It fits a bit tight as new but the foam slowly compresses with time and should fit my head like a glove. Very stable at speed. The only thing I have not figured out is how to block the visor halfway at medium speed. My old Star used to do it. This new one has two positions. Fully open or shut.
